Catholic Therapists and Counseling

Catholic & Christian Counseling

At Veritas Counseling & Consulting, we believe that authentic healing addresses the whole person—mind, body, and soul. For many individuals and families, faith is not simply a source of comfort but the foundation upon which they understand suffering, relationships, identity, and hope. Our Catholic and Christian counseling services provide a place where psychological healing and spiritual growth can be pursued together with compassion, clinical excellence, and fidelity to the Christian faith.

As practicing Christians—including a practicing Catholic therapist—we understand that emotional struggles often raise spiritual questions. You may wonder why God has allowed suffering, wrestle with shame or guilt, feel distant from your faith, or long to experience the peace that Christ promises. Therapy offers a safe place to explore these questions while receiving evidence-based treatment that honors your beliefs and values.

Our approach integrates proven therapeutic methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Experiencing (SE), and attachment-based therapies with a Christian understanding of the human person. For Catholic clients who desire it, counseling may also incorporate principles from Catholic teaching, Scripture, the wisdom of the saints, virtue formation, Theology of the Body, forgiveness, prayer, and encouragement toward the sacramental life. We gladly collaborate with priests, spiritual directors, and trusted clergy when appropriate and with your permission.

While our foundation is rooted in the Catholic faith, we warmly welcome clients from all Christian traditions. Whether you are Catholic, Protestant, non-denominational, or simply seeking a therapist who respects your Christian worldview, our goal is to meet you where you are. Faith integration is always guided by your preferences and is never forced. We believe excellent clinical care and authentic Christian faith complement one another in the journey toward healing.

Whether you are seeking help for anxiety, depression, trauma, pornography or sexual addiction, betrayal trauma, relationship difficulties, grief, or questions about purpose and identity, we are committed to walking alongside you with truth, compassion, and hope. Our desire is not only to help relieve symptoms but to help you experience greater freedom, healthier relationships, and a deeper understanding of your God-given dignity.

Our Philosophy

We believe every person is created in the image and likeness of God and possesses inherent dignity and worth. Healing involves more than symptom reduction—it is the restoration of the whole person. Through professional counseling rooted in sound clinical practice and informed by the richness of the Catholic and Christian tradition, we seek to help clients move toward lasting healing, authentic relationships, and a life of greater peace, purpose, and freedom.

Theological Training

One of the distinctives of Veritas Counseling & Consulting is that several of our therapists have received formal theological education in addition to their clinical training. Our team includes therapists who have earned graduate-level theological degrees, including a Master of Divinity (M.Div.), providing a deeper understanding of Scripture, Christian doctrine, church history, pastoral care, and the theological questions that often arise in counseling. This background allows us to thoughtfully engage issues such as suffering, forgiveness, sin, grace, vocation, marriage, spiritual formation, and the relationship between faith and mental health with both theological depth and clinical wisdom. While therapy is never a substitute for pastoral ministry or spiritual direction, our theological training enables us to integrate faith into the counseling process in a way that is both professionally responsible and faithful to the historic Christian tradition.
